New farm owners saying Hi to all!

Hello all!!  Very exciting times as we have recently purchased our first small farm in Bungandarra, Yeppoon! It is jut vacant land at the moment so we literally have to start from the ground up so any advise/info you can give would be extremely helpful :-)

Congratulations and welcome to the good life. Research, research, research! What is the surrounding land being used for? What do you want out of your farm? Do you want or need to produce an income from your farm? Most importantly what are you passionate about, that will be your strongest track. Now for the reality check. Budget. If you stick to what is appropriate to your land, terrain, climate, soil structure, existing infrastructure and fencing you will have less set up costs as well as running costs into the future. I would suggest drawing up a rough whole farm plan. You don't have to do it all at once, but mapping where you might want a shed for example in five years time is important. Placement of infrastructure effects everything you do on your farm, it can make running your farm quicker and easier if you get it right. Good luck and enjoy. Angie
