Hi,

I usually check out one of the rural news papers, such as On The Land or perhaps Queensland Country Life etc., when I'm looking for equipment. You could perhaps put an advert in one of those papers too. Many dairy farms have gone out of business and there are often auctions for the equipment advertised. Livestock agents and local papers often know when these are coming up. A word on auctions: Have an idea what the going price for second hand churns is, before you go to the auction as I have often seen second hand equipment go for twice the price of a new one at auction. This is because many people get carried away in the excitement of the bidding. I have seen people pay $120.00 for a slightly rusty farm gate that retailed for $80.00 brand new from the rural suppliers. If you are in the market for new equipment you could try them too. Most of them are agents for many different types of farm equipment.  Also the various dairy associations should be able to help with this- You should be able to find their contact addresses on line.

Hope some of these ideas are useful to you.

Cheers,

Barb
