I am new to farming in Australia, we are looking at buying a small farm in Howatharra in Geraldton Western Australia, the soil however is quite sandy.What type of crop if any would be most suitable in this type of soil? We will have some sheep on the property too.

G'day All, Just invested in a small amount of hectares in the south east of WA as im studying Agriculture at uni and feel it'll be a good experience to learn from. The paddock is 80 ha and has not been used in 15 to 20 years, it is a very dry paddock with little coverage of any type of plants. After removing weeds what would be a good first year crop?
