Hi everyone,

My wife and seven year old daughter have recently attended a sheep and wool show. Naturally, at the show, there were sheep being judged. My daughter came home and told me that she would like to enter ‘Peaches’, one of our mobile lawn mowing animals from our small hobby flock into a show.

While Peaches may never win any beauty contests, she is the daughter of a white Suffolk ewe and a black Suffolk ram, I want to encourage my daughter to understand that to achieve something in life, there is usually a process where there is preparation involved before you can do what you want.

Ultimately, I see this as a great life lesson. So I was wondering if anyone out there has any experience showing sheep, and if so, can you provide any tips and outline what is required through the whole process. Peaches is one of our more friendly and inquisitive ewes and is about 12 months old. Thanks in advance for any help.
