Hi from a Newbie

Hi, new to the forum.  Brought out farm about 4 years ago.  Have had a small herd of cows and sold them.  We also have 4 Heavy Horses for pleaseure.  Maily Clydesdales and my daughter's Shire horse.

Looking to establish Indigenous lines on the farm and grow commercially.  Needing to get weeds in order and looking to use steam method, as we would prefer not to use chemicals for our health, end consumers health and our animals health.

Struggling to find financial assistance, as unless you are already productive, no body wants to know.  This is very frustrating.

Any information that established farmers want to share would be more than welcome.

Hi Rowemidge,

Welcome to the small farming forum, pleased to have you as part of the community.

It sounds like you are living the dream, the Clydesdales are a beautiful horse and you do not see them around that often.

It is often difficult to obtain loans and financial assistance when you are a small landholder. All I can suggest is that you try and maintain any off-farm income for as long as possible until you can build up the revenue/profit of your farming enterprise.

We are here to help if you want any specfic advice.

Regards,

Charlie
