Registering property into a stud

Hi there

We are fairly new to the farming industry, we have had our property for 15 years all those years with cattle but never into purebread. Now we are looking to go into artificial insemination & are becoming a member of Angus Australia.

My question is how do we register our property to a stud?

Angus australia dont need it to be a stud but my dad would like to register it.

Can anyone clarify? We are in NSW

Thanks

Kaylee

hi Kaylee,

most of the breed associations in Australia have their registrars based at Armidale University. If you Phone Armidale Uni. and ask for the Angus Breed registration desk, they should be able to put you through to the Registrar. They will explain all you need to know and sign you up. Before you phone them, decide on what you want your stud to be called. They will probably send you a form which will give three options to choose a name for your stud and a brand. You will not necessarily get your first choice of brand or name as they may not always be available.

I breed Angus cattle. A great breed, nice and quiet and good mothers too.

Cheers,

Barb
