Weather monitoring stations

Does anybody have any comments on weather monitoring stations?

Hi Barra,

The MEA company supplies weather stations. They make a junior weather station which would be suitable for most farmer's. It has a fixed sensor combination – air temperature, humidity, rainfall, solar radiation, wind speed and direction mounted on an inground mast with data delivered over a modem.

Below is a link to further information

I will contact the company and get a price on this type of weather station.

Regards,
Charlie

Hi Barra

I have a Davis Vantage Pro2 weather station on my farm. It records rainfall, temperature, wind speed & direction, humidity and barometric pressure. It transmits that from the front yard via radio to my farmhouse (about 25 metres away) and from there I send that up to a web page so I can see the weather at any time of the day.

It's not cheap at about $860. Have a look here: http://www.davisnet.com.au
There are cheaper models from other companies and even more expensive ones that cost several thousand dollars! I did research on user forums as to what ones are well built and last and the Davis ones had good responses. Mine has been going for over a year so far.

Looked at the page for the MEA one that Charlie suggested, that looks good too.
