We're about to move onto a ~40ha property near Bathurst, NSW. Currently it is separated into 3 paddocks however I want to develop this futher into 6-8 ~5ha paddocks.

We are looking at purchasing a 10acre property on the NSW Northern Rivers. The property has approx 800 mature macadamia trees, a dam and silos/ dryers. 

We are complete novices and could really use some help with answers to the following

* what would be the best type of mower, a zero turn or a tractor/slasher? We have a budget of around $5000 - $6000 max and need to keep the hours of mowing to a minimum. 

Okay, I may be asking a stupid question but hey!

I have land that we have just purchased. It has had cereals on it for numerous years. Ground is good. Just wondering what the difference is between a scarifier and a cultivator and can you get a scarifier and cultivator combo?

I am looking at one for sale at the moment that is advertised as a combo so just needed some advice.

I have a small property in West Gippsland area which we run horses on. There is a 7 acre back paddock which I'm looking at planting a pasture crop(maybe lucerne) for cutting as hay. Horses only consume money so I'm hoping I can offset some costs by selling feed to other horsey people.

It might sound like a silly question, but given one is not allowed to irrigate without an irrigation license, at what point does "watering the garden" become "irrigation"? 

Is it to do with a certain size? Or is it related to whether it is for private or commercial use?

I am interested to know at what age (roughly) that a dexter bull may be able to breed with my cows. The mother of the bull needed to have a ceasarian whilst giving birth to this bull and our vet has told us not to breed her anymore which is why i dont want to take the risk of her becomming pregnant again. We only have the two cows and a calf and dont want to segregate her from the other cows if we dont need to.

My partner and I are shortly moving to the Northern Rivers region from a city house to some country acres. Our plan is to be semi self-sustainable with a veggie patch, some fruit trees, about 5 chickens and 2 milking goats. We plan to work full time initially, hopefully pulling back to 3 days a week so this is all we think we could manage.

Hi, I too have a major barley grass in pasture, problem but no funds to combat it by reseeding, fertiliser & soil analysis as we're now on the pension.

3 yrs ago we had an early 'break', good growth, sprayed with Glycosphate, great kill followed by more rain/warmth & regrowth. The seeder arrived, I asked him about all the greenery (b. grass of course!) but he said no need to respray, it'd be fine. We only have 12 acs, sowed 8 of them & you can guess the rest of the story. We now have about 80% of the damned stuff so, as you can imagine, the land is rather unproductive.

Hi all, what is the most effective and fastest way to get a fox. l have a cleared property with ajoining property of covered trees and scrub. this fox spots me long before l spot her. l have lost my chickens to her and l want to get some more, so some good smart advice would be welcomed. oh also we live to close to town to use a rifle.
