Hi there,
Just wanted to introduce myself to the members of this great website. My name is Bec and you could say that I am a bit of "weekend farmer", trying to get all the things done whilst having a 9 to 5 job whilst not living on the farm. We currently run a few head of cattle but i am interested in establishing a quality breeder herd. I look forward to the advice I hope to receive once a start posting in the forums.
Thanks
I am looking to purchase land in the Colac-Otway Shire as a sole-income business enterprise. After reading a few of the tips on this site, I have realised my dream of cattle and grain is a little far-fetched considering my budget. However, I am willing to compromise and what I am looking for is something in the way of orchards, vegetables, chooks and some meat (pigs/cattle/sheep), with a long-term goal of self-sufficiency. Tourism is also an area I am willing to pursue, i.e.
Hello everyone,
My partner and I have just bought 100 acres in the Darling Downs region of QLD. We plan to have beef cattle and to start with we will buy weaners then fatten them up and sell them. Down the track we may look into breeding.
Hi
We have just bought a property and was wondering the best way to get rid of a large bullant nest which also is safe for our cows?

Hi there
Hi all!
Me and my partner are fairly young (20 and 21) but are looking at buying lnd in the next year or so and start farming. I'm from a long line of farmers, the last being my grandfathers (one being a sheep farmer and crops, the other growing up on a dairy farm), however my dad grew up on a farm, and worked there until his 20's. I studied Ag in high school and really loved it.

Hi, I'm a new member so introducing myself.
At the moment the farm is just an idea, but we're researching a lot and hoping to make it a reality over the next few years. We're hoping to create a small self-sufficient, organic, permaculture farm, mainly for our own benefits, but also to hopefully educate and entertain the local youth groups and stuff too...lots of ideas. We're looking at north west Brisbane hills...perhaps somewhere near Samford Valley or Dayboro.
This site looks amazing, I've been on it for ages already, great to find it!
Thanks.
