Hi

I have a house paddock with 5 acres, which was formerly used for cattle grazing (so its a bit uneven) and its gently sloping.

For the last couple of years I have used a Signature 23 HP ride on mower, which is okay but it takes 4 to 5 hours and is becoming a chore.

I am planning to buy a tractor for other jobs around the farm (110 acres - moving bales, trees and earthworks).

Hi,

Purchased a second hand tractor (1984 model) with a front end loader from a dairy farm, the tractor spent its usefull life in a silage pit and then was flogged off.

Tractors are a great tool! What used to take me two week ends to do I now do in a few hours.

How ever now the hydraulic cylinders are leaking and at some stage in the past the end caps have been welded on, does not appear to be factory welding looking at the welds so I can only assume the farmer has fixed the leaks by welding the caps on.

Hi- we are a small operation with ~ 50 white dorpers. We are currently manually handling our sheep (flipping them) in the yards to tend to their feet (clip nails) This is exhausting !! We have been looking for a sheep handler/crate/cradle that will flip sheep. We are happy to pay ~$2000-$3000. We are after something that manually flips them ie/ not pneumatic/air compressor.

Hi all, I've be been doing a lot of googling and reading on the small breed cattle, now I would like to meet the breeders and their animals. My question to those in the know is, will there be any opportunities to to see these guys in any of the shows around the Northern Rivers over the next few months or is there an event over the border (Qld) might get to. Does anyone know wether there is a mobile butcher in SA as the slaughter house I have been sending my animalt i do not believe that I am getting my animals meat as myne are better than what I am getting back.

I'm interested in Dorper or Damara Sheep. Firstly I'd like to know if they will graze on Tropical Grasses which contain Oxalates mainly Signal Grass or Bracchia and will this grass have any affect on their health or kidney's. Also how do they fair in the tropic's as it can be very wet.

And finally Dorper's Versus Damara's. I'm split.. Or should I go 50/50 X Breed?

Does anyone have any home remedies to make her better please.

In the process of buying 2 acres in East Gippsland. Have never had land before so have a ton of questions. We will have a paddock approx 1 acre with a dam in it and some garden/shrubs around the dam. The dam has no crest so overflows and makes the very front of the paddock wet when very rainy. Am thinking of getting some muscovies for a few eggs and meat, and a couple of sheep to keep the grass down. Any problems with muscovies and sheep together? Will they destroy the garden? Is the dam/wet ground going to be an issue for the sheep? What would be the best sheep to get?
